Welcome to Piecing Life.

There are a lot of ways that I could describe myself: I am a reader, a writer, a lifelong learner; a quilter, a knitter and a weaver; a genealogist, a wife, mother, grandma, daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter and even a first-, second-, third-, or fourth cousin once removed! I am a Christian who reflects deeply on God’s word, asking hard questions and living with the mystery of all that I cannot understand.

My husband and four children have stretched and pulled me in a lot of different directions and taken me to many different places. I lived in Alaska for two years and spent seven full months of my life in New Zealand (and counting.) I took that “trip to Holland” when I planned on visiting Italy and traveled the long winding road of substance abuse and mental illness. I’m stretched physically (yoga), spiritually and emotionally on a weekly and sometimes daily basis.

With so many interests (and so little time) Piecing Life has become a place for me to write about life using the metaphor of quilting as a springboard for my other musings.
